STEVENS POINT, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The No. 3 ranked University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's hockey team traveled to Stevens Point, WI to take on the UW-Stevens Point Pointers. After falling behind early, Eau Claire would answer and keep things deadlocked to earn a point in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference standings.
Despite trailing halfway through the first, the Blugolds' powerplay would help tie things up after Abby Roeser (Sr. – Cottage Grove, MN/East Ridge) would find the back of the net for her fifth goal of the season. Hallie Sheridan (Fr. – Fergus Falls, MN) and Elizabeth Bauer (Sr. – Wausau, WI/East) would both receive assists on the tally for Sheridan's ninth assist and Bauer's eleventh.
Neither team would budge as the goal lights would remain off the rest of the game to end it in a 1-1 tie.
Goaltender Erin Connolly (Sr. – Mequon, WI/Homestead) stopped 24 of the 25 shots she faced. Connolly is now 14-1-2 on the season.
The Blugolds will head back to Eau Claire, WI for an afternoon matchup on Saturday, February 1st when they take on the Pointers for the final time during the regular season. Puck drop is scheduled for 2PM.
