Three Blugolds named Kwik Trip Athletes of the Week

MADISON, Wis. (Blugolds.com) - The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire's Hallee Hoeppner (Sr.—Winona, MN), Erin Connolly (Sr.—Mequon, WI/ Homestead) and Dylan Glumac-Berberich (Sr.—Fridley, MN) have been named Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Kwik Trip Athletes of the Week, as was announced by Assistant Commissioner of Media Relations Matt Stanek.

 

Hoeppner helped the Blugolds post two more conference wins during the week to improve their WIAC record to 4-1. In a 62-60 victory at UW-Oshkosh on Jan. 15, she scored 12 points on 4-of-9 shooting from the field and 4-of-5 from the free-throw line. Hoeppner added six rebounds, two assists, two steals and two blocked shtos. In a 57-44 victory over UW-Stevens Point on Jan. 18, she scored a game-high 20 points. For the week, Hoeppner averaged 16 points per game, while shooting 12-of-21 (.571) from the floor and 7-of-9 from the free throw line. Hoeppner also tallied 10 rebounds, seven steals, four assists and two blocked shots.

 

Connolly was a defensive key for the Blugolds as they went 2-0 on the week, with a pair of wins over UW-Superior (5-1 and 1-0) and improving their overall record to 14-2-1 and conference mark to 5-0. She only allowed one goal in two games and recorded her fourth shutout of the season. Connolly had 20 saves in the 5-1 victory and followed with 19 saves in the 1-0 triumph.

 

Glumac-Berberich had another strong meet at the UW-Stevens Point Invitational, winning the one-meter board with a school and pool record score of 598.20, which is the top score in the country. He also finished first in the three-meter event with a score of 563.60, which is the top mark in the country.
