  • Women's tennis earns academic honors

    EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (blugolds.com) — Every individual member of the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's tennis team received Scholar Athlete designations from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association, and the Blugolds were collectively named an ITA All-Academic Team for the 2023 season.

    WHITEWATER, Wis. (blugolds.com) — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's tennis team finished as the runner-up at the WIAC Team Tournament on Saturday. The second-seeded Blugolds defeated UW-Stevens Point in the semifinals before falling to top-seeded UW-Whitewater in the finals.

The Blugolds finished in second place, and Anna Lee (Fr. - Buffalo, Minn.) was the individual conference champion in No. 4 singles.

Clare Palen (Jr. -Rochester, MN) and Samantha Fuchs (So.-DeForest, WI) led the way for the UW-Eau Claire Blugolds, placing second in the ITA Doubles tournament.

    RIVER FALLS, WI (blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women’s tennis team was back on the road for Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) play on Sunday with a trip to UW-River Falls to face off with the Falcons. After competitive matches in doubles play, the UW-Eau Claire Blugolds swept the Falcons, 9-0, and improve to 3-1 on the year.

    MENOMONIE, WI (blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women’s tennis team continued Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) play on Wednesday as they traveled to UW-Stout to take on the Blue Devils. After a clean sweep in doubles play, the Blugolds were victorious in all six singles matches for the 9-0 win.

As UW-Eau Claire faced off against UW-Stevens Point at the Eau Claire Memorial High School courts, UWEC came away with a 7-2 victory to earn head coach Ken Cychosz his first victory as the Blugolds’ head coach.

    The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, based in Eau Claire, WI, today announced that it has established a new athletic partnership with NIKE and BSN SPORTS, the nation’s largest direct marketer and distributor of sporting goods to the school and league markets and a division of Varsity Brands. Through this partnership, BSN SPORTS will serve as the official apparel and equipment provider to the UW-Eau Claire Blugolds Athletic Program while outfitting the university’s athletes, coaches, and community members in premier NIKE product selection.
