Eau Claire, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's hockey team packed up their gear once again and hit the road for their fifth consecutive road game as they traveled to Ashland to take on the newest member of the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, Northland College.

The first period was a scoreless section of hockey, but in the second the Blugold special teams kept red hot as Sami Meister (Sr. – Plymouth, MN) would score the lone powerplay goal of the night with just under five minutes remaining in the middle frame. Her one-time blast would ring off the crossbar as it went bar down to prove to be the game winner.

The third period kept a momentum tilted towards the Northland net as Eau Claire would rattle off 21 shots in the third for a game total of 37 on net. Elizabeth Bauer (Sr. – Wausau, WI/East) would continue the Blugold scoring twice later in that period as she redirected her first goal through the goalie's legs. Her second would come from a hard battle out in front and a loose puck landing in the right place.

Goaltender Erin Connolly (Sr. – Mequon, WI/Homestead) would stop all 16 shots she faced to earn herself a shutout and another win to increase her record to 2-1-0 on the season. This was Connolly's first shutout this season.

The Blugolds will continue their road stretch on Saturday, November 16th when they travel North to take on another WIAC opponent, UW-Superior. Puck drop is scheduled for 7PM from Wessman Arena.
