MADISON, Wis. (Blugolds.com) - The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire's Gretchen Arneson (Sr.—Chippewa Falls, WI/ Chi-Hi) has been named Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Kwik Trip Athletes of the Week, as was announced by Assistant Commissioner of Media Relations Matt Stanek.
Arneson opened the 2020 season at the RCTC Dome on Feb. 29, with four hits in two games. Against No. 22-ranked Central College (Iowa), she went 1-for-2 with the only RBI of the game in a 9-1 loss. Against Gustavus Adolphus College (Minn.), Arneson went 3-for-4, with an RBI and a run scored, had four putouts and an assist, throwing out the only runner who attempted to steal, as the Blugolds posted a 4-3 victory. She ended the day with a .667 batting average, .714 on-base percentage and 1.333 slugging percentage.
