MADISON, Wis. (Blugolds.com) - The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire's Michael Bylander (So.—Baxter, MN/ Brainerd) and Sarah Dahlk (So.—Verona, WI/ Middleton) have been named Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Kwik Trip Athletes of the Week, as was announced by Assistant Commissioner of Media Relations Matt Stanek.
Bylander won all seven events he was entered in during the week for the Blugolds in wins over University of St. Thomas (Minn.) and UW-Whitewater. Against St. Thomas on Jan. 24, he won the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 1:58.10 and the 100-yard backstroke in 53.19 seconds. Bylander also contributed to the first-place 200-yard medley relay team. Against UW-Whitewater on Jan. 25, he was victorious in the 100-yard backstroke in 53.44 seconds and 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:11.77. Bylander also helped the 200-yard freestyle relay and 400-yard medley relay teams to victory.
Dahlk had a strong week for the Blugolds, helping them to wins over University of St. Thomas (Minn.) and UW-Whitewater. Against St. Thomas on Jan. 24, she won the one-meter dive (253.20) and placed third on the three-meter board. Against UW-Whitewater on Jan. 25, Dahlk finished first on both boards which was instrumental in the Blugolds winning the meet.
