Graaskamp, Bresser and Cooper Named Kwik Trip Athletes of the Week

MADISON, Wis. (Blugolds.com) - The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire's Anna Graaskamp (Sr.—Eau Claire, WI/ Memorial), Jake Bresser (Sr.—Eau Claire, WI/ Memorial) and Dylan Cooper (Sr.—Holmen, WI) have been named Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Kwik Trip Athletes of the Week, as was announced by Assistant Commissioner of Media Relations Matt Stanek.

Graaskamp was instrumental for the Blugolds in an 83-80 double overtime victory at UW-Stout on Jan. 29, to improve their conference record to 6-2.  She tallied a double-double with 19 points on 8-of-14 shooting (57.1 percent) and 14 rebounds, including 11 defensive. Graaskamp scored 10 of her 19 points down the stretch in the overtimes. She also contributed two steals, two assists and one blocked shot in 33 minutes of playing time.

Bresser led the No. 2-ranked Blugolds to a pair victories over UW-Stout. In a 5-4 overtime victory on Jan. 31, he scored with 48 seconds left in the third period to send the game into overtime. In the extra frame, Bresser earned the first assist on the game-winner, finishing the night with a hat trick and two assists. The two wins improved UW-Eau Claire's overall record to 16-3-2 and 8-2-1 in WIAC contests.

Cooper won the heptathlon at the Warren Bowlus Multi hosted by UW-Stout Jan. 31-Feb. 1. He finished with 5,325 points, setting a new facility record. Cooper won the shot put (44-1 1/2, 13.45 meters), long jump (21-11, 6.68 meters), and 60-meter hurdles (8.37 seconds). His score is currently first in the nation and ranked sixth in NCAA Division III history.
