MADISON, Wis. (Blugolds.com) - The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire's Lexie Tremble (Sr.—Muskego, WI) and Taylor Scalia (Jr.—Lake Elmo, MN/ Stillwater) have been named Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Kwik Trip Athletes of the Week, as was announced by Assistant Commissioner of Media Relations Matt Stanek.
Tremble led the Blugolds to a third-place finish out of 34 teams at the UW-Oshkosh Kollege Town Sports Invitational at Lake Breeze Golf Club in Winneconne, Wis., on Oct. 19. She finished fifth out of 419 runners with a 6,000-meter time of 22:13. Washington University-St. Louis (Mo.) won the meet with 27 points, University of Chicago (Ill.) was second with 90, UW-Eau Claire third with 100 and Wartburg College (Iowa) fourth with 115.
Scalia played in all four sets for the Blugolds and played a strong defensive role for UW-Eau Claire as she recorded her second straight 30+ dig performance (32) and helped the Blugolds to a 3-1 win over UW-Stevens Point. Scalia also added three assists in the match
