Men’s Basketball

Lewis Mau, Guard, 6-4, 210, Senior, Colfax, WI
Mau had a strong all-around week for the Blugolds who closed out the regular season with two conference road games.  In an 80-71 loss at UW-River Falls Mau posted a game-high 19 points and five assists in addition to recording a team-high two steals.  Mau made 8-of-13 field goals including three-of-four three point field goal attempts in 30 minutes of play in his highest-scoring game of the season.  In a 63-60 loss at UW-Oshkosh Mau tallied a game-high six rebounds along with scoring 10 points and dishing out two assists.  Mau made 5-of-13 field goal attempts playing 22 minutes.  For the week Mau averaged 14.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and one steal per game converting 13-of-26 (.500) field goals, 3-of-8 (.375) three-point field goals and 0-of-2 free throws.

Women’s Basketball

Courtney Lewis, Forward, 5-10, Senior, Prairie du Chien, WI
Lewis finished the regular season in strong fashion as the Blugolds posted two home conference wins earning the second seed in the WIAC women’s basketball tournament.  In a 69-64 win over UW-River Falls Lewis posted a game-high 27 points and five assists to go along with six rebounds while playing 33 minutes.  Lewis made 7-of-13 field goal attempts including a perfect three-of-three from the three-point line and 10-of-10 free throws.  Her point total was the second-most points Lewis has scored in a single game, one point shy of tying her 28-point effort at UW-Platteville on February 13, 2013.  In a 64-61 victory over UW-Oshkosh Lewis again lead both teams with 25 points, 11 rebounds and one steal to go along with two assists and one blocked shot while playing all 40 minutes.  Lewis made 5-of-12 field goal attempts connecting on three-of-three three-point field goals and 12-of-14 free throws.  For the week Lewis averaged 26 points, 8.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists making 12-of-25 (.480) field goals, six-of-six three-point field goals and 22-of-24 (.917) free throws.  For her efforts Lewis is now tied for 20^th on the Blugold all-time scoring list with 948 career points.

Gymnastics

All-Around:  Tori Erickson, Freshman, Woodbury, MN
Erickson finished second in the all-around as the Blugolds defeated Gustavus Adolphus (MN) 185.925-175.300 in a WIAC home dual meet.  Erickson earned an all-around score of 36.275 finishing just 0.525 points out of first place.  Erickson placed second on the balance beam scoring a 9.325, fifth on the vault and uneven bars with scores of 9.225 and 9.025 respectively and she finished 11^th on the floor exercise earning a score of 8.700.

Men’s Hockey

Jack Callahan, Defenseman, 5-9, 191 pounds, Senior, Red Bank, NJ/Christian Brothers Academy
Callahan was a big factor for the Blugolds who finished the regular season in sole possession of second place with two conference wins this past week.  In a 5-1 victory at UW-Stout Callahan assisted on the game tying goal at 1:08 of the first period and scored his first power play goal of the year at 3:11 of the third period.  In a 3-2 come-from-behind victory over UW-River Falls Callahan scored the game-tying goal in a four-versus-four situation at 12:26 of the second period on Senior Night at Hobbs Ice Center.  The Blugolds have now won four-straight games over the Falcons including 10 victories in the last 12 meetings between both schools.

Men’s Tennis

Will Weyenberg, Sophomore, Neenah, WI
Weyenberg won his #2 singles and doubles match as the Blugolds defeated St. Norbert College 9-0.  Weyenberg defeated Leon Gilman in singles play 6-1, 6-1 while teaming up with Andrew Rust to defeat Casey Brice and Ben Vande Zande 8-1 in doubles action.

Men’s Track and Field

Field:  Roger Steen, Throws, Senior, Luck, WI
Steen won the shot put breaking his own school record set just two weeks ago at the Big Dog Invitational hosted by UW-Stevens Point.  Steen won the shot put with a throw of 59-5 (18.11 meters) which was four feet and two inches farther than his next closest competitor.  The toss broke Steen’s own school record of 58-6.75 (17.85 meters) set two weeks ago at the Pointer Invitational also hosted by UW-Stevens Point.  Steen currently ranks second nationally in the shot put.

Women’s Track and Field

Track:  Carly Fehler, Sprints, Senior, Oak Creek, WI
Fehler won the 60-meter dash breaking her own school record in the process while also helping the 4 x 200-meter relay to a first place finish at the Big Dog Invitational hosted by UW-Stevens Point.  Fehler won the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.74 seconds but it was her preliminary time of 7.70 that set the school record.  Prior to the meet Fehler had set the school record of 7.73 seconds on March 14, 2014 at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships held in Lincoln, Nebraska.  Her time in the 60-meter dash currently ranks second in the nation.  Fehler was also a member of the 4 x 200-meter relay team that earned first place honors with a time of 1:43.65.
