Men’s Basketball

Kurtis Moody, Forward, 6-2, 222, Junior, Pequot Lakes, MN
Moody was one of two Blugolds to score double-digit points in two games this past week.  In an 85-74 loss to Wartburg College (Ia.) on November 26, Moody tied for the team lead in points with 16 to go with a team-best five rebounds and two steals.  Moody made six-of-12 field goal attempts including a four-of-five performance from the free throw line.  In a 73-62 victory over Hamline University (MN) on November 29 Moody scored 10 points connecting on five-of-seven field goals in just 12 minutes of action.  For the week Moody averaged 13 points, three rebounds and one steal per game shooting 11-of-19 (57.9%) from the field and four-of-five (80%) from the free throw line.  Moody also added two steals and one assist on the week.


Women’s Basketball

Kristin Sahr, Guard, 5-9, Senior, Stillwater, MN
Sahr was a pivotal part of the Blugold offense who split two games this past week.  In a 66-53 victory over 24th-ranked St. Norbert on November 25, Sahr played 34 minutes off the bench to lead all scorers with 22 points making eight-of-11 field goal attempts (72.7%) including four-of-five three-point field goals (80%) and two-of-four (50%) free throws.  Sahr lead the Blugolds with five assists to go along with three rebounds.  Sahr was the first Blugold to score more than 18 points in a game this season and it was the third-highest total in her career.  In a 101-89 loss at North Central College (IL) Sahr scored 16 points connecting on five-of-eight field goal attempts (62.5%) including one-of-two three-point field goals (50%) and five-of seven free throws (71.4%). Sahr also added four assists and two rebounds.  For the week Sahr averaged 19 points, 4.5 assists and 2.5 rebounds shooting 13-of-19 (68.4%) from the floor, five-of-seven (71.4%) from the three-point line and seven-of-11 (63.6%) from the free throw line.


Men’s Hockey

Ross Andersen, Forward, 5-10, 179, Senior, River Falls, WI
Andersen scored two of the Blugolds’ three goals in a 3-1 victory at Augsburg College (Minn.) on Saturday, November 29.  The Auggies are currently receiving votes in the latest USCHO.com NCAA Division III National Poll.  Andersen scored the team’s first goal at 15:54 of the first period giving the Blugolds a 1-0 lead.  In the third period Andersen scored his second goal of the evening at 4:33 extending the Blugold lead to 2-0.  It was the third two-goal game of the season for Andersen, who is tied for the team lead in points (9), goals (6), short-handed goals (2) and game-winning goals (1).
