EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) - Two UW-Eau Claire Athletics teams were in action today, women's soccer and women's volleyball, both on the road.
Women's Soccer
UW-Eau Claire 3, UW-Superior 0
Facing each other for the final time as WIAC rivals, the women's soccer team ended a four-game road trip with a 3-0 victory over UW-Superior here today at the Yellowjacket Soccer Complex. The Blugolds are 23-0-0 lifetime against the Yellowjackets. In a series that started in 1993, the Yellowjackets have scored just three goals in 23 games against the Blugolds.
Women's Volleyball
UW-Stevens Point 3, UW-Eau Claire 0 (25-10, 25-16, 25-20)
Playing at 15th-ranked UW-Stevens Point, the women's volleyball team dropped the conference match 3-0 at Berg Gymnasium tonight. The Pointers won with scores of 25-10, 25-16 and 25-20 to improve to 14-4 on the season and 2-1 in the WIAC. The Blugolds fall to 9-11 overall and 1-2 in conference play. As a team, the Blugolds hit a season-low .064, tying a season low 23 kills with 16 errors. Alexis Wong led the Blugolds in kills with six.
