EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) - Four UW-Eau Claire Athletics teams were in action today on Homecoming, three teams at home and one on the road competing at a WIAC Championship. Additionally, the Hall of Fame banquet was held.

Women's Tennis

UW-Eau Claire 9, UW-Oshkosh 0

The women's tennis team won their sixth-consecutive dual match of the season defeating UW-Oshkosh 9-0 here today in the Olson Addition of the McPhee Physical Education Center. The Blugolds won five of six singles matches in straight sets. With the win Eau Claire improves to 6-1 in dual matches and 4-1 in WIAC action.

Football

UW-Platteville 49, UW-Eau Claire 0

The football team had a tough time against 18th-ranked UW-Platteville on the Blugolds' Homecoming and Hall of Fame Game, falling 49-0 at Carson Park today. The game, which was the conference opener for both teams, got away from the Blugolds early. UW-Platteville scored a touchdown on its opening drive after traveling 70 yards in 16 plays, chewing up over eight minutes to start the game. But the Pioneers led by just one touchdown after one quarter. The Pioneers then put four more touchdowns on the board in the second quarter to lead 35-0 at halftime and added two more touchdowns in the second half.

Women's Soccer

UW-Whitewater 1, UW-Eau Claire 0

The women's soccer team gave 23rd-ranked UW-Whitewater all they could handle but could not earn the victory falling to the Warhawks 1-0 here today at Bollinger Field. The game's lone goal came in the first half when goalie Emily Byal was called for a red card attempting to break up a Warhawk scoring opportunity. Whitewater would convert the penalty kick at 11:38.  It would stand as the only goal of the game. For the game Whitewater outshot Eau Claire 9-5 but both teams fired four shots apiece in the second half.

Women's Golf

WIAC Championship - 2nd of 7

After two rounds of the 2014 WIAC Championship at Lake Arrowhead Golf Course, the women's golf team remained in second place out of seven teams. The Blugolds have been consistent, totaling 339 strokes for the second day in a row to bring their two-day total to 678. UW-Stout shot an impressive 311 today and now leads with 645 strokes. Blugold Kate Engler remained the top player in the field of 52 golfers as she finished with 79 strokes for a two-day total of 157, one in front of Stout's Mariah Chelsey.
