EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) - Two UW-Eau Claire Athletics teams were in action today, women's volleyball hosting a tournament and women's swimming & diving starting the season on the road.

Women's Volleyball

UW-Eau Claire 3, Trinity (Texas) 2 (25-22, 20-25, 16-25, 25-21, 15-13)
UW-Eau Claire 3, Saint Mary's (Minn.) 1 (25-21, 22-25, 25-17, 25-16)

The women's volleyball team won two matches to open the first day of its own Fall Classic in the McPhee Physical Education Center today. The Blugolds took down 15th-ranked Trinity University (Texas) 3-2 to start the day and closed the day with a 3-1 victory over Saint Mary's (Minn.). In the opening match against Trinity, the Blugolds won the first set 25-22 before dropping the next two 25-20 and 25-16. They then bounced back with a 25-21 set four win and won the match after picking up a 15-13 victory in the final set. Against Saint Mary's, the Blugolds won the opening set 25-21 before falling 25-22 in the second set. They then won the following sets 25-17 and 25-16 to win the match.

Women's Swimming & Diving

UW-Eau Claire at Minn.-Mankato

The women's swimming and diving team kicked off the 2014-15 season competing at NCAA Division II Minnesota State here today at Highland Pool. Overall the Blugolds won 4 different individual events.  Eau Claire finished the day with 11 second and third-place finishes.
