EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) - Two UW-Eau Claire Athletics teams were in action today, women's tennis and women's volleyball, both on the road.

Women's Tennis

UW-Eau Claire 7, Winona State (Minn.) 2

The women's tennis team won two doubles matches and five singles matches to defeat the Warriors 7-2 today. Sarah Henderson dropped the fewest number of games in singles, winning 6-0, 6-0 in the No. 6 spot. Colleen McCullough and Henderson lost just one game at No. 3 doubles as they pair won 8-1.

Volleyball

UW-Platteville 3, UW-Eau Claire 2 (21-25, 25-20, 22-25, 25-22, 15-12)

The women's volleyball team and UW-Platteville went back and forth tonight, but the Pioneers came out on top, beating the Blugolds 3-2 in Williams Fieldhouse. Eau Claire won the opening set 25-21, Platteville won the next one 25-20 but the Blugolds bounced back and won the next set 25-22. In the fourth set, the Pioneers evened up the match with a 25-22 win and used their momentum to take the fifth set 15-12. Three Blugolds reached double figures in kills with Katrina Raskie leading the way with 20 and had a team-high hitting percentage of .312.
