Blugold Volleyball Players Honored by AVCA

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – Two UW-Eau Claire volleyball players have been named to the 2012 American Volleyball Coaches Association All-Region Midwest Team while another was honorably mentioned, the organization announced today.

Emily Neave (Sr.-Salem, Wis./Westosha Central) and Anne Satterlee (Sr.-Green Bay, Wis./Ashwaubenon) were both selected to the team.

Neave leads the Blugolds and is third in the conference averaging 10.59 set assists per set. She has a total of 1,356 assists this season. Neave also ranks 20th in the conference and fifth on the team with 0.24 service aces per set.

Satterlee, who was the WIAC Player of the Year this season, ranks third in the WIAC with 4.10 points per set, fourth with 3.33 kills per set and sixth with a .272 hitting percentage. She is second on the team in kills per set and third with 38 service aces and 85 total blocks.

Amy Bomgren (Sr.-Woodbury, Minn.) received honorable mention status.

Bomgren leads the Blugolds and is third in the WIAC with 3.54 kills per set this season. She is also fourth on the team and 11th in the league with 0.30 service aces per set.
