Volleyball Clips Eagles for 10th Straight Win

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The UW-Eau Claire women's volleyball team downed UW-La Crosse 3-0 to record its 10th consecutive win tonight at the McPhee Physical Education Center.

The Blugolds jumped out to an early lead, scoring 25-14, 25-20 wins in the first two sets. La Crosse attempted a comeback in the third set, edging out to an 8-2 lead.  Eau Claire settled in and started a 19-3 run that pushed the Blugolds to a 25-13 set victory.

Laura Slinger (Sr.-Faribault, Minn./Bethlehem Academy) recorded double digit kills to lead all players on the evening.  Lauren Sutherland (So.-Dayton, Minn./Meadow Creek Christian) made a team-high 13 digs. Emily Neave (Jr.-Salem, Wis./Westosha Central) added 11 digs and made 34 of the Blugolds' 37 assists on the evening.

The Blugolds improve to 19-11 overall and a near-perfect 6-1 in WIAC play.

Eau Claire will host UW-Platteville at noon tomorrow for another conference match to wrap up the regular season.
