Volleyball Picks Up 3-0 Win over Titans

OSHKOSH, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The UW-Eau Claire volleyball team regained a .500 record this season by securing a 3-0 win over UW-Oshkosh this afternoon.

The Blugolds won the first two games easily, outscoring the Titans 25-16 and 25-18. Eau Claire couldn't control the third set as it had the others and found itself down 21-18 late in the game. The Blugolds battled back, however, and persevered for a 27-25 win.

Liz Amici (Sr.-Whitewater, Wis.) totaled the most kills of any player in the match with 15. Anne Satterlee (Jr.-Green Bay, Wis./Ashwaubenon) also tallied 11 kills on 14 total attempts for a .643 hitting percentage. Lauren Sutherland (So.-Dayton, Minn./Meadow Creek Christian) led the Blugolds with 12 digs while Emily Neave (Jr.-Salem, Wis./Westosha Central) made 37 of Eau Claire's 40 set assists.

Eau Claire improves to an even 11-11 on the year and 3-1 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. The Titans drop to 14-10 overall and 2-2 in the conference.

The Blugolds will host a conference match this Wednesday against UW-Superior. Competition is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. in the McPhee Physical Education Center.
