MENOMONIE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) - The UW-Eau Claire men's golf team tied for third place out of seven teams at the UW-Stout Invitational at Chippewa Valley Golf Course today.
Finishing with 310 strokes, the Blugolds tied the UW-Stout JV team and was just eight strokes behind Augsburg College (Minn.), which won with 302. UW-Stout took second with 303.
Jamie Krula (Jr.-Chippewa Falls, Wis./Chi-Hi) led the Blugolds as he finished with 75 strokes, tied for sixth place.
Leading the Blugolds' second team was Jake Erickson (Fr.-Chaska, Minn./Academy Of Holy Angels) as he tied for ninth with 76.
UW-Stout's Andy Smith took medalist honors, winning with 72 strokes on the par-71 course. A total of 43 golfers competed today.
Next up, the Blugolds will compete this Sunday and Monday at the Gustavus Adolphus Invitational in Minnesota.
