Men's Golf in 14th at NCAA Championship

GREENSBORO, N.C. (Blugolds.com) - The UW-Eau Claire men's golf team dropped to 14th place out of 15 teams during the third round of the 2011 NCAA Championship at Grandover Resort & Conference Center today.

Greensboro now leads the field with 877 strokes while Methodist University (N.C.) is in second place with 880. Texas Lutheran University is in third with 882 strokes. The Blugolds currently have 917 heading into the final day of the championship.

Tim McCormick (So.-Madison, Wis./Memorial) still leads the Blugolds but finished with 10 more strokes than yesterday. He now has 228 for the tournament, tied for 45th overall.

Loren Churness (Sr.-Durand, Wis.) had the best mark today for the Blugolds as he finished with 75. His three-day combined total is now 230 and he is tied for 51st. Jamie Krula (Jr.-Chippewa Falls, Wis./Chi-Hi) is also tied for 51st.

Jimmy Hutchings (Jr.-Hudson, Wis.) has 235 strokes, tied for 69th while Ben Brooks (Fr.-Beaver Dam, Wis.) is in 76th place with 238 strokes.

Chris Morris from Centre College leads the entire field with 203 strokes.

Tomorrow the Blugolds will begin the final round teeing off at 7:30 a.m. (Eastern).
