Men's Golf Finishes in 10th Place at Twin Cities Classic

WAYZATA, Minn. (UWECBluglds.com) - The UW-Eau Claire men's golf team finished 10th out of 18 teams after the three-day Twin Cities Classic, hosted by Gustavus Adolphus College (Minn.).

The Blugolds recorded 922 strokes while Illinois Wesleyan took the top spot with 882. Gustavus and St. Cloud State (Minn.) tied for second with 893 strokes.

Bemidji State's Justin Johnson won medalist honors with 214 strokes (-2). A total of 107 golfers competed at this year's event.

Loren Churness (Sr.-Durand, Wis.) was the top finisher for the Blugolds as he tied for fifth with 220 strokes.

Tied for 47th overall with 235 strokes was Ben Brooks (Fr.-Beaver Dam, Wis.) while Jamie Krula (Jr.-Chippewa Falls, Wis./Chi-Hi) shot 236, tied for 53rd. Jake Brookshaw (Jr.-River Falls, Wis.) tied for 61st with 237 strokes and Jake Erickson (Fr.-Chaska, Minn./Academy Of Holy Angels) tied for 70th with 239.

The Blugolds will next compete in the spring.
