EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) - Three UW-Eau Claire Athletics teams were in action today, women's basketball and wrestling at home while men's basketball was on the road.

Wrestling

UW-Stevens Point 40, UW-Eau Claire 6

Two wrestlers picked up wins as the Blugolds fell 40-6 to UW-Stevens Point in the McPhee Physical Education Center tonight. Ryan Seidler recorded the team's first win at 149 pounds while Luke Ortscheid won at 184 pounds.

Women's Basketball

UW-Oshkosh 58, UW-Eau Claire 45

Despite leading for the first 24 minutes of tonight's game against 19th-ranked UW-Oshkosh, the women's basketball team couldn't get by the Titans, falling 58-45 on Ken Anderson Court in Zorn Arena tonight. Eau Claire led 26-21 at halftime, but over the first five minutes in the second half, the Titans outscored the Blugolds 9-4 to tie the game at 30 and took their first lead of the night at 14:11. Oshkosh didn't look back after that, steadily building its lead the rest of the way. The Titans led by as many as 15 points, twice in the final three minutes. Courtney Lewis led the Blugolds in scoring with 10 points while Ellen Blacklock had a game-high seven blocks, three short of the Blugolds' school record.

Men's Basketball

UW-Oshkosh 64, UW-Eau Claire 32

Leading for the first 14 minutes and scoring 13 points in the first nine minutes, the men's basketball team had trouble making baskets the rest of the night in a 64-32 loss at UW-Oshkosh tonight. After Eau Claire got up by seven, the Titans steadily worked their way back into the game, outscoring the Blugolds 10-2 over the next five minutes to take their first lead of the game at 16-15 with less than six minutes to play in the first half. After the 11-minute mark in the opening half, the Blugolds had trouble scoring the rest of the game, hitting just one basket the rest of the first half, including a scoreless stretch over the final 8:30 of the half. The Titans had a double-digit lead the entire second half. Jack Martinek led Eau Claire in scoring with six points.
