EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) - Four UW-Eau Claire Athletics teams were in action today, men's tennis at home while softball and the track & field teams were in La Crosse.

Playing two close games at UW-La Crosse to open the 2014 conference schedule, the softball team came up short in both at North Campus Field today. The Blugolds fell 5-3 in the first game and 5-4 in the second.
Men's Tennis
UW-Eau Claire 9, St. Ambrose (Iowa) 0
The men's tennis team had little trouble picking up a 9-0 victory over St. Ambrose University (Iowa) on the Olson Indoor Tennis Courts in the McPhee Physical Education Center today. In singles play, the Blugolds won all six matches and lost only a combined seven games as they all won in straight sets. All three doubles teams won and the Blugolds combined to drop just four games.
Men's Outdoor Track & Field
Ashton May Invitational - 2nd of 9
Competing at the Ashton May Invitational at UW-La Crosse, the men's outdoor track & field team finished in second place out of nine teams today. With five event victories, the Blugolds recorded 159 points while UW-La Crosse won with 200.
Women's Outdoor Track & Field
Ashton May Invitational - 3rd of 8
Competing at the Ashton May Invitational at UW-La Crosse, the women's outdoor track & field team finished in third place out of eight teams today. The Blugolds recorded 103 points while UW-La Crosse won with 329. Eau Claire came away with two first place finishes. The Blugolds also had five other top-three finishes.
