Women's Golf
Wartburg Invitational - T-2nd of 6
After day one of the Wartburg College Spring Invitational at Centennial Oaks Golf Club in Waverly, Iowa, the Blugolds are tied for second out of six teams. Emily Stone leads the Blugolds and the rest of the field with 75 strokes (+3) while Kate Engler is tied for second with 77. Tomorrow’s final round will get underway at 9:30 a.m.
Softball
UW-Eau Claire 7, UW-Stevens Point 2
UW-Eau Claire 8, UW-Stevens Point 0 (6 Innings)
Playing for the first time on its home field, Gelein Field, in 712 days, the softball team picked up two conference wins over UW-Stevens Point today. The Blugolds opened the doubleheader with a 7-2 win and closed the day with an 8-0 victory in six innings. Eau Claire is now 19-13 on the season and 4-4 in the WIAC.
Women's Tennis
UW-Eau Claire 9, UW-River Falls 0
Playing in its final home match of the 2013-14 season, the women's tennis team defeated UW-River Falls 9-0 today. The Blugolds combined to lose just nine games in singles play while losing just six in doubles.
Men's Tennis
UW-La Crosse 6, UW-Eau Claire 3
The men's tennis team won two singles matches and one doubles match, falling to UW-La Crosse 6-3 today. Ryan Vande Linde (No. 1) and Will Weyenberg (No. 5) won singles matches while Will Weyenbergand Luke Zwiener won No. 3 doubles. The win for La Crosse was the first against the Blugolds since 2011.
Men's Outdoor Track & Field
Phil Esten Challenge - 5th of 12
The men's outdoor track & field team came in fifth place out of 12 teams at UW-La Crosse's Phil Esten Challenge today. The Blugolds scored 75 points while UW-La Crosse won with 205. UW-Oshkosh took second with 121 and UW-Stout was third with 89. The best results for the Blugolds were two runner-up finishes while claiming a total of nine top-five finishes.
Women's Outdoor Track & Field
Phil Esten Challenge - 6th of 9
The women's outdoor track & field team came in sixth place out of nine teams at UW-La Crosse's Phil Esten Challenge today. The Blugolds scored 69.5 points while UW-La Crosse won with 203. UW-Oshkosh took second with 127 and Winona State University (Minn.) was third with 103. Eau Claire claimed first place in two events.
