EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) - Four UW-Eau Claire Athletics teams were in action today, three competing in WIAC Championships and all of them on the road.

Men's Golf

Edgewood Spring Quadrangular - 1st of 4

The men's golf team ended the regular season by winning the Edgewood College Spring Quadrangular at Bishops Bay Country Club today. The Blugolds won the tournament with 313 strokes while Edgewood College was second with 319. Five Blugolds finished tied for seventh or better, including four in the top five.

Softball

WIAC Championship
UW-Eau Claire 4, UW-Oshkosh 0

The softball team opened the 2014 WIAC Championship with a 4-0 victory over UW-Oshkosh today. Up 1-0, the Blugolds added three runs in the top of the seventh. Fischer hit her 11th home run of the season to give the Blugolds three runs. The homer tied a single-season school record, which Casey Leisgang accomplished in both 2006 and 2008. Saturday the Blugolds will be in action, facing UW-Whitewater at noon.

Men's Outdoor Track & Field

WIAC Championship - 7th of 9

The top finish for the men's outdoor track & field team on day one of the WIAC Championship came from the 4x800-meter relay team, taking second place with a time of 7:44.38. As a team, the Blugolds are currently in seventh place while UW-La Crosse leads with 77.

Women's Outdoor Track & Field

WIAC Championship - 6th of 9

Katryna Williams led the women's outdoor track & field team on day one of the WIAC Championship by winning the conference title in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 11:12.73, almost 20 seconds ahead of the rest of the field. The Blugolds are currently in sixth place with 29.50 points while UW-La Crosse leads with 58.
