EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) - Weather forced three UW-Eau Claire Athletics teams to have their events cancelled today. Women's golf was able to play early Sunday to finish a suspended first round from Saturday, while men's golf and softball saw their contests cancelled.
Men's Golf
Saint John's Spring Invitational - T-1st of 18
The men's golf team tied for first place out of 18 teams after just one round of competition at the Saint John's University (Minn.) Spring Invitational. The opening round was played Saturday and Sunday's final round was cancelled due to poor weather conditions. The Blugolds tied Saint John's and St. Cloud State University (Minn.) for the top spot with 296 strokes. Brady Hanson led the Blugolds, tying for third place with 71 strokes (-1).
Women's Golf
Carleton College Invitational
After one round of competition, Kate Engler won the Carleton College Invitational, while the women's golf team finished in fourth place out of seven teams at Northfield Golf Club. Saturday's opening round was suspended because of lightening but the round was completed Sunday morning before the second round was cancelled due to weather.
