EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – Two UW-Eau Claire wrestlers picked up wins as the Blugolds fell 40-6 to UW-Stevens Point in the McPhee Physical Education Center tonight.
With the Blugolds down 15-0, Ryan Seidler (Sr.-Adams, Wis./Adams-Friendship) recorded the team's first win at 149 pounds as he defeated UW-Stevens Point's John Roycraft 4-1. Seidler is now 16-4 on the season.
The other win came from Luke Ortscheid (Sr.-Wausau, Wis./West) at 184 pounds as he scored a 10-5 victory over Kane Seuber. Ortscheid now holds a 14-12 record this season.
Eau Claire drops to 1-10 on the season in duals and 0-4 in WIAC duals. UW-Stevens Point improves to 7-8 overall and 2-2 in conference duals.
The Blugolds will be on the road Saturday at the UW-Whitewater Border Brawl Duals. They will face Concordia University (Wis.) in the first match of the day at 11 a.m.
