Men's Tennis Drops Home Contest to Luther

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The UW-Eau Claire men's tennis team fell 6-3 to Luther College (Iowa) on the Ade Olson Outdoor Tennis Courts at UW-Eau Claire today.

The Blugolds recorded two singles victories and one doubles win.

At No. 5 singles, Joe Meier (So.-Hutchinson, Minn.) won 6-3, 6-2 while Michael Roden (Fr.-Eau Claire, Wis./Memorial) came from behind to win in the No. 6 spot, 2-6, 6-2, 7-5.

In doubles play, Roden and David Stingley (Jr.-St. Paul, Minn./Highland Park) won 8-7 in the No. 3 spot. The pair has won two in a row and improves to 9-2 on the season.

Eau Claire drops to 14-7 on the season while Luther improves to 14-4.

Next Friday, the Blugolds will be at the College of St. Scholastica (Minn.) in Duluth. Action will get underway at 1 p.m.
