Men's Tennis Records Split over Weekend

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The UW-Eau Claire men's tennis team split this weekend, defeating Macalester College (Minn.) 8-1 Saturday after falling 5-4 to Augustana College (Ill.) on Friday night at the Eau Claire YMCA Tennis Center.

Chris Kuna (Sr.-Edina, Minn.) and Michael Roden (Fr.-Eau Claire, Wis./Memorial) won both of their singles matches this weekend.

In the No. 1 spot, Kuna won 6-2, 2-6, 6-3 on Friday against Augustana's Adam DeSimone and picked up a 6-3, 6-1 win against Macalester's Chris Fowler on Saturday.

At No. 6, Roden won 7-6, 6-2 facing Augustana's Ken Bayles on Friday and followed that with a 6-3, 6-3 win over Macalester's Lewis Wilcox.

In doubles action, Dirk Van Rybroek (Sr.-Madison, Wis./Edgewood) and Ryan Vande Linde (So.-Eau Claire, Wis./Memorial) won both of their No. 2 matches this weekend. The pair won 8-3 against Augustana and 8-5 facing Macalester.

Eau Claire is now 14-6 on the season.

Next Friday the Blugolds will host Luther College (Iowa) for a match beginning at 3 p.m.
