INDIANOLA, Iowa. (blugolds.com) – The University of Eau-Claire Women's Soccer Team hit the road Saturday, September 17th to face off against the Simpson College Storm. In a strong defensive match up, an early goal by the storm would be just enough to get past the Blugolds.
Simpson would strike 2 minutes into the game with an early goal to go up 1-0. The Blugolds would create multiple opportunities to bring the game back to a draw with through passes and long passes, but weren't able to connect. The Blugold defense stepped up the remainder of the game preventing any more opposing scores. Kennedy Boll (So.- Franklin, WI) would save 6 of the 7 shots on goal she faced putting together another solid performance. Boll now moves to a record of 3-3 while in goal for the Blugolds this season.
Eau Claire would come up short 1-0 after the game got called in the 76th minute due to weather.
The Blugolds (3-3) will be on the road on Tuesday, September 20th as they take on the St. Catherine wildcats. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:00pm.
