CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa. (blugolds.com) – The University of Eau-Claire Women's Soccer Team continued their road stretch against the Coe College Kohawks on Sunday. An impressive first half capped off by a sensational second half allowed the Blugolds to come away with a 5-0 road victory.

Box Score

The Blugolds would strike first in the 11th minute as Molly Henderson (So. – Duluth, MN) carried the ball down the line and blazed right past the keeper for the score on the right post. UW-Eau Claire would maintain offensive pressure for the rest of the half outshooting Coe 10-3. The Blugolds would execute a corner in the 35th minute finished by Elise Pinewski (So. – Anoka, MN) heading the ball just out of the keeper's reach to put Eau Claire up 2-0 to end the half.

The Blugold offense came out in the second half with strong dominating possession and maintained similar offensive pressure from the first half. In the 63rd minute, Maggie Conway (Sr. – Mount Horeb, WI) sent an absolute laser of a shot 25 yards out from the left side of the box to the top right post which bounced in and added to the Eau Claire lead. A free kick by Kiki Kussow (Sr. – Green Bay, WI) in the 70th minute set up Sydney Spencer (Jr. – Hudson, WI) for an easy tap in goal and put the Blugolds up 4-0. A last-minute tally by Pinewski from Henderson sealed the shutout victory against Coe.

The Blugold defense was spectacular allowing only one shot then entire second half and four shots the entire game. Eau Claire's dominant possession also eliminated any chances for the Kohawks to score.
