Three Women’s Soccer Players Receive All-WIAC Recognition

MADISON, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – Three members of the UW-Eau Claire women's soccer team were recognized for post-season honors by the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC), it was announced today by the Assistant Commissioner for Media Relations Matt Stanek.

2014 All-WIAC Women's Soccer Team

Forward Caroline Henderson (Jr.-Duluth, MN/East) and defender Ashley O'Connell (Jr.-Appleton, WI/East) were named to the All-WIAC Team while midfielder Jocelyn Etten (So.-Elkhorn, WI) was named to the All-Sportsmanship Team.

Henderson ranked 10th in the WIAC in points per game (0.68) and goals scored per game (0.26).  During the Blugolds' four-game winning streak Henderson scored a goal in three out of four games including two game-winning goals.  Henderson led the team in assists with three while tying for the team lead in points with 13.

O'Connell spearheaded a defense that held Blugold opponents to one or zero goals in 12 of 20 games including five shutouts.  O'Connell also contributed two assists this season.

Etten started all 20 games this season scoring two goals and adding two assists for the Blugolds.
