Blugolds and Blue Devils Soccer to Play for Paul Bunyan's Ax

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The UW-Eau Claire and UW-Stout women's soccer teams will start a new tradition Wednesday when the teams face off at Bollinger Field at 4 p.m.

In an event named "Battle of the Blues", the teams will be competing for a trophy, Paul Bunyan's Ax, which will be displayed on the campus of the winning team for the following year.

The Blugolds currently lead the all-time series 18-3-2. Stout narrowly won, 3-2, last year while the Blugolds won seven straight before that.
