Women's Soccer Playing for a Cause September 17

Women's Soccer Playing for a Cause September 17

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The UW-Eau Claire women's soccer team will be playing for a cause when it hosts Wartburg College of Iowa at 4 p.m. on September 17 at Bollinger Field.

For the fourth year in a row, the Blugolds will be raising awareness for a particular cause. Proceeds from Wednesday's fundraising efforts will support scholarships for economically disadvantaged youth through 8th grade to attend our Blugold Soccer and Leadership Camps. NCAA regulations preclude us from contributing to the Eau Claire United Scholarship Fund as was originally planned, but we are excited to be able to provide opportunities for youth in the Chippewa Valley to attend our soccer camps! We appreciate your understanding and apologize for the last-minute change.

The Blugolds will auction off game jerseys during the game through a silent auction to help raise funds, and donations will also be accepted throughout the game.  Bids can also be placed prior to the game. At the end of the game the highest bid will win the jersey. Winners not in attendance will be contacted for payment.

If interested in placing a bid before the game, email Clare Hohman at HOHMANCM@uwec.edu.

For more information, contact soccer head coach Sean Yengo at (715) 836-4097.
