KANSAS CITY, Mo. (Blugolds.com) - The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) recently recognized the UW-Eau Claire women's soccer team for its excellence in the classroom, in addition to their work on the field. 2013-14 Women's Team Academic Winners NSCAA College Women's Team Academic Award All-Time List To qualify for the award, the team must have a minimum grade point average of 3.25 for the entire academic year. The team GPA is determined by adding every player's GPA, then dividing by the number of players. This award runs one school year behind. This season's (2014-15) will be announced next November. It is the 11th time that the Blugolds have earned this award. The Blugolds also received this award in 2003, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2013. A total of 861 collegiate soccer teams (279 men, 582 women) posted a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher, thereby earning the NSCAA Team Academic Award for the 2013-14 academic year. |
