EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The UW-Eau Claire women's soccer team outshot UW-Oshkosh 8-4 in the first half but was unable to score a goal as the Blugolds fell to the Titans 1-0 here today at Bollinger Field.

Eau Claire fell to 4-9-1 overall and 2-3-0 in WIAC play while Oshkosh improves to 8-6-1 overall and 4-1-0 in conference action.
The first half saw an aggressive Blugold offensive attack putting consistent pressure on the Titan defense. Eau Claire outshot Oshkosh 8-4 in the first half including four shots on goal and several quality scoring opportunities.
The second half saw the Titans become the aggressor outshooting the Blugolds 8-2 in the second half. The game's lone goal came when Oshkosh forward Rachel Elliot scored off a rebounded save from Eau Claire goalie Rachel Griffiths (So.-Waunakee, WI).
In six appearances, five of which have been starts, Griffiths has allowed just six goals. Her record on the season is now 1-3-0. On Senior Day midfielder Teighlor Tvedt (Sr.-Verona, WI) led the Blugolds with two shots along with forward Tara Dennehy (Jr.-Eugene, OR/Churchill).
For the game Oshkosh outshot Eau Claire 12-10. Eau Claire held a 6-0 corner kick advantage but was whistled for 12 penalties compared to eight by Oshkosh.
The Blugolds will play their final non-conference regular season game this Wednesday, October 22 when they travel to the University of St. Thomas. The game is scheduled for a 4 p.m. start.
