Soccer Plays La Crosse to Stalemate

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – Playing in its fifth double overtime of the season and fourth at home, the UW-Eau Claire soccer team tied UW-La Crosse 0-0 at the Bollinger Fields today.

While the Blugolds led the shot total, 20-12 and placed a 12 on-goal, none would find the back of the net. La Crosse finished with three shots on-goal.

Brittany Burant (Sr.-Stevens Point, Wis./SPASH) led the Blugolds with four shots, while three others had three a piece.

Nina Behrenbrinker (So.-St. Paul, Minn./Cretin-Derham Hall) played all 110 minutes in-goal for Eau Claire and made three saves.

This is the second year in a row the Blugolds tied La Crosse. Last year they played to a 1-1 tie. Eau Claire is now 9-4-3 on the season and 3-2-1 in WIAC play while the Eagles are 9-5-2 overall and 4-1-2 in the WIAC.

The Blugolds will now head to Waverly, Iowa to take on Wartburg College tomorrow at 2 p.m.
