Women's Tennis Wins Fourth WIAC Match

MENOMONIE, Wis. (blugolds.com) - The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's tennis team continued Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) play against UW-Stout. After sweeping the doubles matches, the Blugolds won five of the six singles bouts for an 8-1 win.

Results

Four Blugolds gathered two wins on the day after dominant performances against the Blue Devils. Emily Cooper (Sr. – White Bear, MN) and Alexa Brooks (Beaver Dam, WI) earned their first win at No. 2 doubles with an 8-0 sweep. Cooper then won at No. 3 singles, 6-1, 6-2. Brooks also earned the team point with a 6-0, 6-1 win at the No. 4 spot.

Morgan Nelson (Fr. – Beaver Dam, WI) continued her success in the WIAC with a win at No. 3 doubles with Natalie Girard (Jr. – Kenosha, WI/St. Joseph). Nelson then earned her fourth conference singles victory defeating Kyrstin Hanson (STOUT), 6-5, 6-1.

The women will conclude their regular season on Wednesday, April 21 when they host UW-Oshkosh. First serve is scheduled for 1 pm.
