Women's Tennis Falls Short On The Road

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. (blugolds.com) - The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's tennis team traveled to Bethel University for their tenth dual of the year. Coming off a 7-2 WIAC victory last Sunday, the Blugolds fell short on the road in a 7-2 loss to the Royals on Wednesday.

Results

Sydney Presler (So.-Eau Claire, WI/Altoona) and Morgan Nelson (Fr.-Beaver Dam, WI) both earned team points in the sole Blugold wins on the day. Nelson battled to a tiebreaker 3-6, 6-4, 4-10 win at No. 4 singles. Presler won her own singles match at the No. 6 spot, 6-4, 6-4.

Natalie Girard (Jr.-Kenosha, WI/St. Joseph) and Nelson came close to a victory at No. 3 doubles but fell to Ingrid Goldstrand (BU) and Rylee Schurman (BU), 8-4.

Alexa Brooks (Jr.-Beaver Dam, WI) also came close to gaining a victory of her own in a tiebreaker, but lost 2-6, 6-4, 6-10.

The women will be back on the court on Sunday, April 18 when they take on UW-River Falls. The match is scheduled to begin at 1pm.
