Women's Tennis Remains Undefeated With Road Win

WINONA, Minn. (blugolds.com) - The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's tennis team traveled to Winona State University on Saturday for their second nonconference dual of the year. Despite dropping the first three matchups in singles, the UWEC would close things out with three wins in the bottom singles and two doubles wins for a 4-3 win.

Results

Alexa Brooks (Jr. – Beaver Dam, WI) and Emily Cooper (Sr. – White Bear Lake, MN/Mahtomedi) got things started for Eau Claire with a 6-2 win at #2 doubles. The Blugolds would then earn one point with a win at #3 doubles by Morgan Nelson (Fr. – Beaver Dam, WI) and Natalie Girard (Jr. – Kenosha, WI/St. Joseph).

Brooks would continue her hot hand on the day with a win at #4 singles over Audrey Delich (WSU), 6-2, 2-6, 7-5. Nelson and Sydney Presler (So. – Eau Claire, WI/Altoona) would clinch the tie and the victory with wins at #4 and #5 singles.

The Blugolds will have the week off and won't compete again until March 20th, when they travel to Augustana (IL).
