Men's Tennis Announces 2012-13 Team Award Winners

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The UW-Eau Claire men's tennis team awarded five players with the 2012-13 team awards, head coach Tom Gillman recently announced.

Named Player of the Year was David Stingley (Sr.-St. Paul, Minn./Highland Park). He finished the year with a 21-4 overall singles record, which included an 18-3 record in dual competitions. Stingley went 9-0 at No. 5 singles and 8-3 in the No. 6 spot. He also had an 18-4 doubles record in dual competitions, spending most of his time at No. 2 where he compiled a 14-4 record.

Brayden Parman (Jr.-Beaver Dam, Wis.) won the Most Improved award. Parman went 19-7 overall in singles play with a 16-6 record in dual competitions. He finished with records of 7-1 at No. 4 singles and 8-4 in the No. 5 spot. In doubles play, he finished the season with a 6-0 dual meet record, going 5-0 in the No. 3 spot and 1-0 at No. 2.

Presented with the Team Player award was Joe Meier (Jr.-Hutchinson, Minn.). He finished the year with a 13-4 record, 7-1 at No. 2 singles and 6-3 at No. 3 singles. Playing in the No. 1 doubles position, he and partner Ryan Vande Linde (Jr.-Eau Claire, Wis./Memorial) compiled a record of 12-10.

Vande Linde was selected as the Blugold Award winner. He competed exclusively at No. 1 singles and doubles and finished with an 11-3 overall singles record, which included a mark of 10-12 in dual competitions.

Honored with the Coaches Award was Kyle Hoffmann (Fr.-Franklin, Wis.). He went 8-1 in dual competitions with an overall singles record of 9-2 while going 7-1 in the No. 6 spot. He played with two partners in doubles, primarily at No. 3, while compiling an overall record of 17-4.
