Men's Tennis Goes 1-1 On the Day With Win Over St. Cloud State

SARTELL, Minn. (Blugolds.com) – The UW-Eau Claire men's tennis team traveled to Sartell, Minnesota for two matches against Michigan Tech and St. Cloud State (Minn.) and the Blugolds split on the day.

Eau Claire started the day off with a 6-3 loss to Michigan Tech.  The Blugolds' victories came at No. 5 singles by Brayden Parman (Jr.-Beaver Dam, Wis.) with scores of 6-2, 6-4.

They also won two of their doubles match, with Michael Roden (So.-Eau Claire, Wis./Memorial) and David Stingley (Sr.-St. Paul, Minn./Highland Park) winning the No. 2 doubles match 9-7 and Florent Marco (Sr.-Eau Claire, Wis./Memorial) and Kyle Hoffmann (Fr.-Franklin, Wis.) winning in the No. 3 doubles match 8-5.

The Blugolds looked much better in their second match, winning 8-1 against St. Cloud State.

They won all three of the doubles matches to start the contest.

After losing the No. 1 singles match, the Blugolds did not fall again.

In the No. 2 match, Marco won in three sets by a score of 6-2, 4-6, 10-7.  Joe Meier (Jr.-Hutchinson, Minn.) won the No. 3 match by a score of 6-0, 6-3.

Roden, Parman, and Stingley also won their matches for the Blugolds at No. 4, No. 5 and No. 6 singles, respectively. Roden won 6-2, 6-3, Parman won 6-2, 6-4 and Stingley won 6-3, 6-3.

The win and loss brought the Blugolds record on the season to 2-2.

The next match of the season will be played next Friday in St. Peter, Minnesota against Milwaukee School of Engineering.  It will begin at 7 p.m.
