Swim and Dive announces team awards

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire swimming and diving teams have announced their team awards following the 2019-20 season as voted by the team.

Garnering awards for the women's squad were:

Most Valuable Freshman – Kathryn Volz (Fr. – Tomahawk, WI)

Most Valuable Diver – Sarah Dahlk (So. – Verona, MN/Middleton)

Most Inspirational – Jessica Wilson (Jr. – Brookfield, WI/Wauwatosa West)

Hardest Worker – Kathryn Volz

Most Improved – Vaia Mandravelis (Jr. – Golden Valley, MN/Robbinsdale Armstrong)

Most Valuable – Paige Pelikan (So. – New Berlin, WI/West)

In addition, the captains for next season were selected: Vaia Mandravelis, Katherine O'Connell (So. – Green Bay, WI/Ashwaubenon), Paige Pelikan and Jessica Wilson.

On the men's side, the awards went to:

Most Valuable Freshman – Brendan Pelto (Fr. – Lake Elmo, MN/Stillwater)

Most Valuable Diver – Dylan Glumac-Berberich (Sr. – Fridley, MN)

Most Inspirational – Matthew Poppitz (Fr. – Apple Valley, MN/Eastview)

Hardest Worker – Jack Poppitz (So. – Apple Valley, MN/Eastview)

Most Improved – Erik Marcotte (Sr. – Brooklyn Park, MN/Park Center)

Most Valuable – Collin Miller (Sr.—Rochester, MN/ Schaeffer Academy)

The captains for the men in 2020-21 will be: Michael Bylander (So. – Baxter, MN/Brainerd), Riley Jorgenson (Jr. – Winona, MN), Greg Pehl (Jr. – New Brighton, MN/Irondale).
