MADISON, Wis. (blugolds.com) — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire men's and women's swimming and diving teams both received recognition with WIAC Kwik Trip Athletes of the Week on Tuesday. Ella Weaver (Jr. - McFarland, Wis.) is the women's swimmer of the week, and Quincy Kabe (Jr. - Buffalo, Minn.) is the men's diver of the week.
Weaver won two individual events during a dual against UW-La Crosse on Nov. 5. She won the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:07.23, which is a conference-leading time. She also finished first in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:26.53, which also leads the conference. Weaver was also a member of the winning 400-yard medley relay team, and placed second in the 400-yard individual medley with a personal best of 4:54.26.
Kabe won both boards during a dual with UW-La Crosse on Nov. 5. His scores on both the one- and three-meter boards are NCAA diving zone cut scores, a feat he has achieved for the third dual meet in a row. He won the one-meter with a score of 314.40 and the three-meter with a score of 314.25. Both are conference-leading scores and he is in the top 15 in NCAA Division III on both boards.
