EAU CLAIRE, WI (blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire's Athletic Director, Dan Schumacher, has announced the hiring of Nick Hoven as the Athletic Department's Assistant Athletic Director for Media Relations and Sports Information after a national search.
Nick, a 2020 UW-Eau Claire alum, steps into the role after serving as the Assistant Sports Information for UW-Eau Claire since 2020.
"Watching Nick evolve into his position, it was clear that moving up to the Director position was a logical and smooth transition for him and the Department," said Schumacher. "We are lucky to have another Blugold at the helm!"
During his time at UW-Eau Claire, Hoven has worked with all 25 sports and has covered three NCAA Division National Championships and hosted multiple NCAA Regional events. In his new role, he will oversee all the department's marketing and media relations and maintain the department's website. In addition, Hoven will also oversee all video streaming of Blugold home events and in-game statistics.
Before his full-time role at Eau Claire, Nick spent four years as a student intern in the Athletic Department under former SID, Jill Millis, where he produced gameday programs, recorded live stats for football, soccer, hockey, and baseball, and provided play by play commentary for multiple Blugold sporting events.
"Over the past six years, Eau Claire has become a second home for me," Hoven said.
