EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (blugolds.com) — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's basketball player Jessie Ruden (Sr. - Rochester, Minn./John Marshall) has been named a preseason first team All-American by D3hoops.com. Ruden, a guard, was the co-player of the year in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference last season and helped lead the Blugolds to the WIAC Tournament title and a spot in the NCAA Tournament.

Ruden led the WIAC in scoring average with 18.8 points per game last season. She also averaged 4 rebounds and 2.8 assists per contest for the Blugolds. Her 77 3-pointers were the most by any WIAC player and she finished with a 35% percentage from long range. Ruden was named a second team All-American by D3hoops.com at the end of last season.

The Blugolds, who are ranked 13th in D3hoops.com's preseason top 25, open the regular season at Zorn Arena against Wartburg on Friday, Nov. 11. The game is part of the season-opening Tip Off Tournament.
