Neubert to step down as women's lacrosse coach

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (blugolds.com) — University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's lacrosse coach Aubrianne Neubert announced Wednesday that she will be stepping down from her role as head coach. Neubert guided the Blugolds program for three seasons, beginning with its inception in 2021.

Neubert plans to spend more time with her family — her husband Jonathan and two daughters, Emma and Sarah.

"After many tears, sleepless nights and heartfelt prayers, for our family, we feel it is best for me to step down as the head women's lacrosse coach," Neubert said. "To make sure we are living intentionally and focused on what matters most to us: raising daughters who can be a light to others while we try to help everyone we meet on the journey of life."

Neubert will continue to serve the program in a caretaker role until a new head coach has been hired.

Neubert finishes her time as Blugolds coach with a record of 24-11. She steered the team to a 4-4 mark in its inaugural season in 2021 and followed with a standout 13-2 campaign in 2022. The Blugolds went 7-5 in 2023 and finished the season by winning six of their final eight contests.

She was hired as the first women's lacrosse coach in UW-Eau Claire history in February of 2020. She guided the program through a debut campaign that was modified due to COVID-19 and helped establish a winning tradition over the course of three seasons. Highlights included the program's first win in its first ever game in 2021, a 10-game win streak to open the 2022 season and matching program scoring records down the stretch in 2023.

The university will undergo a national search for its next women's lacrosse head coach.
