Blugolds Fall to Falcons to End Regular Season

EAU CLAIRE, Wis, (Blugolds.com) The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's lacrosse team hosted the UW-River Falls Falcons for the last regular season game. The Blugolds fell to the Falcons 15-5. Eau Claire ended the regular season with an overall record of 13-2. The Blugolds two losses of the season were to the 14-2 Falcons.

The Blugolds started the first quarter with a quick goal by Gracie Bowman (Fr.- Mankato, MN) assisted by Samantha Burns (Fr.-Mahtomedi, MN) at 13:39. Samantha Burns was the next Blugold to get on the board scoring an unassisted goal at 3:16 in the second quarter. Eau Claire went into halftime down 11-2 against the firing Falcons offense. 

Ruby Pozorski (Fr.-Burnsville, MN) put Eau Claire on the board in second half with a goal assisted by defensive player Natalie Hanson (Jr.-Maple Grove, MN). Burns took advantage of a free position shot in the 3rd quarter to give the Blugolds an offensive boost. The scoring slowed down in the fourth quarter for the Falcons with only one goal. Riley Domagala (So.- Bloomington, MN) scored the final goal of the game unassisted at 2:47. The Blugolds end the 2021-22 season averaging 16.27 goals per game while shooting 46.2%.
