CANTON, MO (blugolds.com) The UW-Eau Claire Women's Lacrosse team had a clean sweep on their road series winning their final game 16-4 against Culver-Stockton.
The Blugolds scored seven consecutive goals in the first period. Alexie Romaneli (Fr.- Naperville, IL) and Sammi Burns (Fr.- Mahtomedi, MN) led Eau Claire with three goals each. Ruby Pozorski (Fr.-Burnsville, MN) had the only two assits of the period. The Blugolds forced nine turnovers and only allowed three shots on goal. The second period consisted of three unassisted goals by Gracie Bowman (Fr.-Mankato, MN), Becky Goetsch (Fr.- Maple Grove, MN) and Lydia Wickersham (Fr.-Janesville, WI). They went into the half leading the Wildcats 10-1.
Sammi Burns scored the first unassisted goal of the second half at 14:07. The Blugolds tallied five more goals ending the game at 16-4. Eau Claire only allowed 12 shots on goals while forcing 31 total turnovers. The Blugolds ended their road series 9-0 remaining undefeated.
UW-Eau Claire will return home March 29th to Simpson Field for Senior Day at 7:00 p.m.
