OSKALOOSA, IA (blugolds.com) The UW-Eau Claire Women's Lacrosse continued their road series against William Penn. The Blugolds find another victory moving to 8-0 with a 19-11 win over the Statesmen.
The Blugolds had another hot start with six goals in the first period. Becky Goetsch (Fr.-Maple Grove, MN) scored the first goal of the game unassisted at 13:25. Goetsch and Sammi Burns (Fr.-Mahtomedi, MN) lead the first period with three goals each. Riley Domagala (So.-Bloomington, MN/Jefferson) had the lone assist at the 4:15 minute mark.
UW-Eau Claire's offensive power continued into the second period. Sammi Burns added on two goals to start the period. The Blugolds had a late push and scored three goals in the last three minutes of the half. Defensively Eau Claire held strong only allowing five goals with 14 shots on net.
In the second half the Blugolds added on eight more goals by eight different players. There were 42 total shots on goal for the Blugolds almost doubling the statesmen's 24. Eau Claire forced a total of 25 turnovers and allowed 11 goals.
The Blugolds (8-0) will play their third game in a row against Culver-Stockton in Canton, MO on March 22st at 4:00 p.m.
