EAU CLAIRE, WI (blugolds.com) The UW-Eau Claire Women's Lacrosse team traveled to UW-La Crosse for a 4 p.m. game. The Blugolds came out on top with a 15-13 statement win over the Eagles.
The first quarter was an offensive battled between the Blugolds and the Eagles. Samantha Burns (Fr., Mahtomedi, MM) led the Blugolds in the first quarter with three goals, one assisted by Becky Goestch(Fr.- Maple Grove, MN). UW-Eau Claire trailed the first quarter 5-6. Eau Claire started the second quarter with three goals in the first five minutes of play.
Becky Goetsch scored the first goal of the second half for the Blugolds at 6:38 off of a free position shot. Burns led the offensive show for the Blugolds with five goals, one assist and three ground balls.
Not only did UW-Eau Claire show up offensivley, the Blugolds only allowed 19 shots on goal and forced a total of 34 turnovers. Eau Claire now moves to 11-1 with a statement win over the UW-La Crosse Eagles.
